Two Time Champion ! Bowling Green NMRA 2021

The NMRA World Finals in Bowling Green Kentucky saw Bill Putnam win his 2nd Limited Street World championship !

But it was far a cakewalk as Team UPR struggled right up to Friday's final qualifier when Bill's 8.36 pass qualified him solidly inb third place.

The big story of the weekend was UPR racer Sammie Brooke's record-setting onslaught of 8-teen passes, including an 8.12 sec run.

And with her trailing Bill by only 200 points, it meant that Bill had to win at least 2 rounds to gain the championship.

That meant that Bill would need a win in his second round race against #2 qualifier

Chad Wendell. When the tree turned green the UPR orange Mustang left first with an .038 reaction time and won the championship turning 8.36 to Chad's equal 8.36.

The odds were against Bill in the final against Sammie as her previous run of 8.12 made her a quarter of a second favorite.

UPR suspension guru Sharad Raldiris tweaked Bill's front and rear UPR Pro-Series suspension with everything he's learned over the past 3 seasons.

On the green Bill again left first with a .057 reaction time. Sharad's magic resulted in a class and personal best 60 foot time of 1.165.

Sammie was on his tail but lost some momentum when her car pulled a 3 foot power wheelie. Sammie did an awesome job of driving but

couldn't close the gap and Bill got there first in a 8.332 to 8.332 shocker. It was a storybook finish for Team UPR !

Our hats are off to Sammie and Dan for their dominant showing and UPR feels very privileged to have them as team members.

The event itself was awesome with Drag racing, drifting and an appearance by Bigfoot !

Our sales staff was run ragged on Friday and Saturday dealing with the great spectator turnout.
